We believe it's more important than ever to elevate the conversation around financial education.

In collaboration with a network of amazing partners and leaders in the finance space, we’re empowering people — particularly high school and college aged students — to examine and improve how they understand, relate to, and use their money, through THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE and its accompanying educational resources.

Participate in our Financial Education College Tour

  • In partnership with FINRA, we’re leading a Financial Education Tour on college and university campuses across the US. For each event, we screen the documentary and have an in-depth conversation with the film’s director and representative from FINRA, with the goal of creating a meaningful educational experience that will leave students more empowered and equipped to take ownership of their financial journeys.

  • Reach out to samantha@optimist.co if you’re interested in learning more or being part of the tour!

Host a Screening of the Film

  • We’ve hosted screenings with high schools, investment clubs, wealth managers, problem gambling coalitions, and more. If you’re interested in learning more about bringing the film to your community, please fill out the form on this page.

  • “THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE serves up an imperative warning about the urgent need for financial education. It will ultimately be seen by future generations as a period piece for this extraordinary era."

Tim Ranzetta, Co-Founder, Next Gen Personal Finance

  • "Beyond compelling. A living case study of how investing, gambling, technology and social media intersect."

    Dr. Fong, UCLA Addiction Psychiatrist

  • 'The film is incredibly thought provoking and will get investors talking about investing, behavioral finance, fear and greed...this is a modern 'meme economy' version of 'Reminiscences of a Stock Operator'.
